Project Description
The project includes design of new mainline track for approximately 3.9 miles with 2 industrial spurs, relocation of utilities, relocation of signal houses, a new Control Point, construction of a new bridge and lengthening of culverts. The objective of the project is to complete environmental reviews and develop preliminary engineering (30%) plans, resulting in the required documentation and approvals to support budgeting, final design and construction of the Lone Hill to White Double Track Project.
Completion of the construction project will result in improved service and safety along the corridor for Metrolink passenger rail service as well as UPRR freight service. In addition, the Project will upgrade twelve at-grade crossings, and provide an enlarged side platform at the Pomona Fairgrounds Seasonal Station. As the Prime Consultant on this study, WES oversaw the work of 10 sub-consultants reporting to Metro’s Transportation Planning Manager.
